Anywhere from an afternoon to a fortnight, depending entirely on which repair you are having.
By Job
Crack injection is usually a single visit of a few hours for one or two cracks.
Sump pump replacement is typically half a day. A new sump installed where none existed, including breaking the slab for the basin, is usually a day.
Interior perimeter drainage commonly runs two to four days for a typical house. One day of breaking out and removing the concrete, one to two laying tile and stone and setting the basin, one pouring the floor back. Longer if all four walls are being done or if a finished basement has to be stripped first.
Carbon fiber straps are usually one day for a wall, sometimes two.
Exterior excavation is the long one — commonly one to two weeks, and weather-dependent in a way the interior jobs are not. In Michigan that means it is realistically a spring-to-fall job.
The Part People Forget
New concrete needs to cure. It is walkable in a day or two but should not have flooring, storage or finished walls put back on it for around 28 days. Plan the reinstatement around that rather than booking a carpet fitter for the following week.
What Delays Things
Access, mostly. A basement reached only through a narrow interior stair means every wheelbarrow of broken concrete goes out by hand, and that can add a day or more.
Then finished basements. Stripping out studwork, insulation and flooring before the work and rebuilding afterwards is frequently longer than the drainage itself.
And in this climate, the season. Exterior work stops when the ground freezes. If you are weighing exterior against interior and it is already November, that decision may have been made for you.
Scheduling
Spring is the busy season here, for the obvious reason that spring is when basements reveal their problems. If your issue is not urgent, booking in late summer or fall usually means shorter lead times and better attention.
